About Ocha8 LLC

Started in the heart of Brooklyn, NY right in Flatbush. I purchased my LLC on my 21st birthday. At the core of everything, the reason I wanted to be a business owner is because I want to help bring wealth and education back into low income neighborhoods. We are in the middle of a literacy crisis, financial crisis, mental and physical heath crisis and a war all at once, the last thing to do now is give up on a positive future. We aren’t in the end times we are in a period of change, and if we do nothing now, we will never grow as a community.

To combat the lack of proper education, I plan on creating spaces where children and young adults can go to build skills in a safe and controlled environment. The youth are our future, allowing them to freely explore their interests safely helps boost creativity and lowers depression. It also is a space so children can be kids and teens can stay off the streets.

As for the issues in mental and physical health within low income communities, I plan to bring more resources into these neighborhoods such as mental help clinics that practice both modern and holistic medicine to help with all mental health and addiction along with creating affordable safe spaces for teens and adults to be able to rest their mind and destress by having fun with outside of the club or bar while also keeping them around people that are their age and are interested in similar things.

And last but not least, to come against the job crisis, every establishment that I open will be employed and ran by people in the neighborhood it opens in. Every neighborhood is different and my goal is to increase the money flow within low income communities instead of having their money flowing outside the community keeping them dependent on outside sources such as the government and large corporations. Also increasing the availability of beneficial human resource assistance such as ‘idea to business’ building, job assistance, career help, housing help, and much, much more.

Moral of the story, I am an entrepreneur working towards bettering the quality of life for people in broken communities. Many ‘reliable’ news sources like to portray the crimes that happen in these communities almost making it seem like we are hopeless savages that don’t deserve good things, instead of showing the predicaments that led to the crimes to help bring a stop to the root causes. Nobody wants to kill or steal, in these communities everyone is feeling pain and the only way they can express their emotions is the only way they can, which is to go avenge their loved one that was taken too soon, or sell some things whether its their body, drugs, or stolen objects, and even when worse comes to worse, go steal what they need by any means possible from anyone around to make sure they survive. To be crystal clear, I am NOT justifying crime, nor am I trying to glorify it, it is NEVER okay to bring harm to or do bad things to yourself and others because of something you’re going through, what I am saying is I get it. If someone was put in a predicament where they felt like they had to do something or sit back and let something happen, most times people will find a way to do something. I met many people throughout my life that have done not so favorable things from petty theft all the way to gun possession and beyond, what they did probably wasn’t the best decision to make, but they definitely had a reason for what they did and felt like they tried their best with what they had available around them. I want to create the other options for people like this. I want to create the spaces that help people not feel backed into that dark corner where the only way out is to do wrong.

Okay.. so why do you have a candle business?

Everyone starts from somewhere! I have many passions. In my personal life I study herbalism and I have a degree in Social Services. I am very big on caring for the main problem instead of the symptoms when dealing with health whether its mental or physical, and during my studies I seen many instances where mental and physical health affect each other so I believe its best to care for both simultaneously. Currently Ocha Aromatherapy is a candle business but we have goals to branch into herbal medicine. In the future we will sell tinctures, oils, salves, plants, flowers, and seeds, we also have intentions on growing and selling cannabis to bring purity back to the buds and to encourage canna-medicine. With the profit from this business, I will be working towards my ultimate goal as an entrepreneur to help low income communities. With that being said, I appreciate your interest and support in my business and I hope you enjoy watching us grow to accomplish these goals and supporting us every step of the way.

I am Quiana, everyone calls me Q. I am 24 turning 25 in August, yes, I am a Leo, yes, I know you hate me already, give me a chance please. Currently I run this business by myself. Throughout my website you will notice I say we a lot, I am speaking about my business and I. I currently have a degree in Social Services and I am pursuing education in cannabis botany, cannabis business, psychology, and possibly physics. I love science; neurology, nano tech, psychology, sociology, biology, everything science! Originally I went to school for Veterinary Technology but quickly changed majors due to not having access to the proper resources to be successful in that major at that school. I grew up in Flatbush, Brooklyn right by Church Ave and went to high school in Coney Island. I wasn’t valedictorian or anything special, if anything, me and my friends were a bunch of trouble. I skipped class, smoked weed, played dice, and hung with the kids that was scamming, gangbanging and trapping. My company did not change my intelligence, nor were they dumb enough to do so. Yes, our decision making was questionable, but we all still graduated and began living real life some of us furthered our education, some stared businesses, some began working. I said that to say I lived the lifestyle that I’m trying to change. Yes at the time it seemed harmless and fun but looking at the bigger picture, it worsened the community and did nothing to put us in a better place financially or mentally. My life is the reason why I want to create a better world. I can only imagine a world where we were given the proper resources, and I aspire to bring that to life.
